Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the use of fine needles inserted in specific points on the body to treat a variety of diseases. It is one of the treatment modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Acupuncture Theory was formulated around 200BC and has benefited from continuous revisions. The World Health Organisation has recommended acupuncture as an effective treatment in a variety of disorders, listing nervous conditions, respiratory disorders, allergies, gastro-intestinal disorders, back injuries, arthritis, headaches and chronic pain.
I practice TCM Acupuncture. Treatment is based on differential diagnosis of symptoms according to Yin/Yang theory and the Eight Principles. To avoid any discomfort I use the finest disposable needles and use gentle needling techniques. At all times, I adhere to the Covid protocol recommended by my professional body, the British Acupuncture Council.
Auricular Acupuncture
Auricular acupuncture is the needling of the points on the ear. There are two distinct systems – the French/European system and the Chinese system. I utilize both in my practice.
